Father Christmas has now moved on to Morrison’s Superstore in Centenary Way, Little Clacton where he will be until Christmas Eve when he will leave at 2 pm to go off and prepare for his busy night delivering presents. We start our Christmas Collections on Friday 7th December at Brightlngsea Fiveways from 1000 to 1700. Then on Monday 10th December we will be at Asda at Bull Hill, Oxford Road, Clacton on Sea for three days. Our collections are all to raise funds for the two Clacton Lifeboats and other Lions Charities.
It is not too late to book for our Christmas Quiz being held on Friday 30th November at St. James’s Church Hall, Tower Road, Clacton on Sea, CO15 1LE. Teams of 4 to 6 people at £3.50 per head. Prizes for best Banquet. This quiz is raising funds to support the running of our Club.
Our 2018 Charity Auction takes place this Saturday at the United Reformed Church Hall, Carnarvon Road, Clacton on Sea, CO15 6PH with door opening at 9 am and the bidding starts at 10 am. There are no activities this weekend for our Club – although some of us will be getting together for a lovely Cream Tea at our President’s on Sunday – so it seem a good time to point out that it is only 7 weeks now to our Massive Charity Auction. This is being held on
Last Saturday, we had a fund-raising stall at the Great Bentley Village Show on the Village Green, the largest village green in England. Despite a heavy rain shower we raised an excellent £174.70. Now we move on to some indoor fun but not before we enjoy a Cream Tea in our President’s Garden next Sunday.
