September and October were very busy months for our Club. We provided three Pig Race Nights for local charities, including the Chairman of Tendring District Council’s Charity Fund. These Pig Races raised over £3000 for these charities.
We have also held a Quiz Night for the Clacton Lifeboats; a Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support which raised £500, a Games Stall at the Great Bentley Village Show and “Suppa Cuppa” event in Brightlingsea. Our last event in October was on Saturday 29th with our BIG Charity Auction which had 280 lots and raised over £1,723 for our Charitable Trust.
We have also inducted four new members in the last two months. They are a welcome addition to our team and are already throwing themselves into our events.
Earlier in the Summer, we were selling our Quiz Sheets which are raising funds for the local Messy Church for disabled and Special Needs Children; helping out with Clacton Carnival and appearing at other smaller events. The Quiz Sheet is still available from Brian Birt Carpets in High Street, Clacton or by going to www.quizline.org.uk.
Internally, our members have been making and collecting “Little Dresses for Africa”; food items for the Clacton Foodbank and clothing items for this year’s “Winter Warmers” project run by the local CAB and is due to run during January and February 2017.
