Last Night’s Annual Nostalgia Quiz was won by regular team “The Flying Piglets” who donated the £100 donation for charity to “Epilepsy Action Tendring”. At our meeting last night, we not only elected our officers for the next year starting at the beginning of July but the awards won at our District Convention last month where our Press Officer received the District’s “Scribe” award for his submissions to the District’s monthly newsletter. Our President, Lion Liz, along with Lion Jim put out 40 collecting boxes – with daffodil pins – around our area early in March. These have now been collected in and the money counted. The total by the 40 boxes was £743,36 which is now winging its way to Marie Curie.

At our recent District Convention for Lions and Lionesses from all over East Anglia, our Press Officer, Lion Alan Mercer, received an award called the “Scribe” Trophy for his numerous and varied contributions to the District’s monthly newsletter, “Lions Roar” over the past year. Well Done Alan. Keep up the good work.
Our meeting tomorrow night is a chance to try out some World War II food “delights”. Should be an interesting night but will they be tasty bites. It will not be a trip down Memory Lane for many of us but it will not hurt to be reminded what our parents or grandparents went through.

Over the next couple of days 10 of us are off to our East Anglian Convention in Peterborough. Should be a super weekend of Fun and Fellowship whilst having the chance to debate important issues. Looking forward to meeting our friends from other clubs around East Anglia.
