Having missed last year, we were back taking part in Clacton Carnival’s Procession last night with a float celebrating Lions Clubs International’s centenary and advertising some of our projects. Our President, Lion Peter and his lady, Lynda, were judges prior to the Procession moving off as well. Very well done everyone. On Monday and Thursday
Last Saturday we were invited to take part in the Clacton Fire Station Open Day and we took an awareness stand plus some games that children could enjoy, plus we also took Leo with us. We presented the Fire Station with a Certificate of Appreciation. There are more pictures on our Facebook page.
Our New President Lion Peter chaired a busy first meeting of his year last night. With a packed agenda all went well as we prepare for the usual hectic summer of fund raising and service. First up is on Saturday when we are helping with the Car Parking at Clacton’s Relay for Life for Cancer

Tonight is the night of our Centennial Celebration Quiz at St. James’s Church Hall, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1LE. As well as a free drink on arrival and some surprise cakes, there will be a donation to a charity of the winning team’s choice of £200. Looking forward to welcoming everyone to a night of fun.
This Wednesday will be the last Club Meeting of this Lions year and we have lots to talk about. Still two carnivals to participate in and two social events before our next President picks up the reins.
Despite very warm conditions, we had another successful Pig Race Night last Saturday at Weeley Village Hall on behalf of the local Scout Groups.
