Tonight is the night of our Centennial Celebration Quiz at St. James’s Church Hall, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1LE. As well as a free drink on arrival and some surprise cakes, there will be a donation to a charity of the winning team’s choice of £200. Looking forward to welcoming everyone to a night of fun.
This Wednesday will be the last Club Meeting of this Lions year and we have lots to talk about. Still two carnivals to participate in and two social events before our next President picks up the reins.
Despite very warm conditions, we had another successful Pig Race Night last Saturday at Weeley Village Hall on behalf of the local Scout Groups. Last night, our Club held a Fellowship Meeting, where Past Presidents brought along their scrapbooks and there were books of Press Cuttings across the years and other memorabilia. Having already made a contribution of over 100 items, we have today handed over more than 100 items to the Foodbank based in Brightlingsea. Many thanks to all who contributed towards this donation. Another Centennial target achieved.
Last Night’s Annual Nostalgia Quiz was won by regular team “The Flying Piglets” who donated the £100 donation for charity to “Epilepsy Action Tendring”. Lions funds benefited by over £400 and now we look forward to the “Centennial Celebration Quiz” on Friday 23rd June at St. James’s Church Hall. Book early to avoid disappointment –
